We’ve talked a little about the struggles of staying productive at work in the past – it’s not an easy thing to do. But we haven’t looked at the foods that’ll help you stay energised and ready for anything. So here we’re going to give you a rundown of office snacks that’ll fuel your day and have you blasting through that to-do list in no time.
Hard boiled eggs – Boil a couple of eggs first thing in the morning and take them into work with you. They’re an excellent source of protein which will help stifle hunger pains and stabilise blood sugar levels. Check with your colleagues before bringing these to the office as they might be a little smelly.
Carrots and hummus – Looking for something tasty? Then try taking some hummus and carrots to your desk. It provides all the nutrients you need and the chickpeas in the dip are a good source of calcium, iron, and protein!
Apples and peanut butter – Many people view peanut butter as a guilty pleasure, but it doesn’t have to be that way. It can also help you gear up for work. Chop an apple up to provide some fibre and carbohydrates and then dip into the peanut butter for some protein!
Wasabi peas – These aren’t to everyone’s taste but if you like them, they’re a great food to snack on throughout the day. Packed with protein and fibre they’ll keep you energised for hours.
Pretzels – Another tasty treat to keep on the desk all day – these salty bites are low in fat and give enough carbs to see you through until lunch.
Yoghurt – Nothing beats a morning yoghurt to help clear out your digestive tract! But that’s not what you’re here for… no, yoghurts are also a brilliant source of protein, vitamins, protein, and magnesium.
Jerky – For you meat lovers out there why not try homemade jerky? We say homemade because most of the supermarket bought stuff will be packed with additives and preservatives. Again, a great source of protein to see you through the day!
So there you have it. Seven snacks to keep on your desk that’ll help you get your work done!
